
"LILLETTE'S RHYTHM CLUB" starring phenom concert pianist Jade Simmons is the upcoming musical based on a true story of Lillette and Bud Harris. who owned and operated the first Black Nightclub, Casino and Hotel post World ar II in Reno-Sparks Nevada 1945. The club featured an array of stars, and the musical play tells of the struggle Black entertainers had during that era, while presenting some of the most fabulous song and choreographed dance scenes in live theater today. Proceeds from the play will benefit The Queen of the Keys Awards Inc. scholarship and grants program. Lillette's Rhythm Club is set to have a sneak preview of the show September 2016 in New York, and Atlanta Ga.....
Bud and Lillette both hold a special place in history. Lillette's Rhythm Club is an historical event as shown in the original Nevada Gazette grand opening article from 1945..........
Lillette and her first husband Bud Harris Actor and Comedian of Radio, TV and Screen fame. were considered entertainment royalty mostly becuase of the love affair they had with one another and how Bud doted on Lillette who was twenty years his junior. The upcoming musical is based on the establishment of the club and the array of stars that performed at or patronized the club. Some of those stars included Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis Jr. and Lena Horne to name a few.
To Friends, Fans and Supporters of Lillette "Queen of the Keys"........Lillette continues to thrive and perform periodically at special events for her Queen of the Keys Award Inc. program and Lillette's Foundation for the Arts. Her daughter Adrienne Lillette Harris a Press Agent and Media Concept Producer is currently working on a book, and producing the Biopic and stage musical based on the life of her mother and late father Bud Harris. Adrienne's production company FAME Multimedia Productions are executive producers of the project. Lillette's family is also involved in the legacy venture.
The musical Lillette's Rhythm Club and other related productions will preserve the legacy of Lillette as a pioneer and advocate for the musical arts in a career that spans 85 years. Queen of the Keys Awards program is accepting donations to continue distributing annual scholarships and Awards to derserving schools and individual students. The foundation also benefits Alzheimer's caregiver and support groups in the Southeast region. All donations are tax deductible under Lillette's Foundation 501c3 status.
